We often get asked to recommend an iOS QR Code Scanner App for use with GoCodes Physical Asset Tags and this one is our favorite. Here's why:
- It starts the scanning process automatically when activated
- It automatically scans any visible QR code
- When it sees a URL automatically starts the locally installed browser and takes you to the URL
- It correctly prompts for 'Share Location' so we can get the GPS coordinates of the Asset Tag
Because of this it solve two common problems. First it prompts the user to share the location information so we can get the GPS. Second, it open the URL in a full browser which is required for all the features of the GoCodes software to work.
If you use another scanner app and find that the browser user interface does not work correctly, for example, does not respond to pressed buttons, it most likely is because the web page is not open in the local browser on the smartphone or tablet. Just look for the option to open in the local browser and you should be good.
